2 Corinthians 3:14-15   However, their minds became closed. In fact, to this day the same veil is still there when they read the Old Testament. It isn’t removed, because only Christ can remove it. Yet, even today, when they read the books of Moses, a veil covers their minds.

2 Corinthians 4:3   So if the Good News that we tell others is covered with a veil, it is hidden from those who are dying.

1 John 2:22   Who is a liar? Who else but the person who rejects Jesus as the Messiah? The person who rejects the Father and the Son is an antichrist.

1 John 4:3  But every person who doesn’t declare that Jesus Christ has come as a human has a spirit that isn’t from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that you have heard is coming. That spirit is already in the world.

7 Many people who deceive others have gone into the world. They refuse to declare that Jesus Christ came in flesh and blood. This is the mark of a deceiver and an antichrist.

2 Timothy 1:9    God saved us and called us to be holy, not because of what we had done, but because of his own plan and kindness.[a] Before the world began, God planned that Christ Jesus would show us God’s kindness.

Ephesians 1:4    Before the creation of the world, he chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in his presence.

1 Timothy 2:12    I don’t allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. Instead, she should be quiet.

1 Timothy 2:14    Besides that, Adam was not deceived. It was the woman who was deceived and sinned.

1 Timothy 5:8    If anyone doesn’t take care of his own relatives, especially his immediate family, he has denied the Christian faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

1 Timothy 6:11    But you, man of God, must avoid these things. Pursue what God approves of: a godly life, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

1 Timothy 6:15     At the right time God will make this known. God is the blessed and only ruler. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

2 Timothy 2:10    For that reason, I endure everything for the sake of those who have been chosen so that they, too, may receive salvation from Christ Jesus with glory that lasts forever.

2 Timothy 3:6    Some of these men go into homes and mislead weak-minded women who are burdened with sins and led by all kinds of desires.

2 Timothy 3:16     Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval.

Hebrews 9:15    Because Christ offered himself to God, he is able to bring a new promise from God. Through his death he paid the price to set people free from the sins they committed under the first promise. Romans 9:11-12     Before the children had been born or had done anything good or bad, Rebekah was told that the older child would serve the younger one. This was said to Rebekah so that God’s plan would remain a matter of his choice,  a choice based on God’s call and not on anything people do.

Romans 9:18   Therefore, if God wants to be kind to anyone, he will be. If he                              wants to make someone stubborn, he will.

Romans 9:24  This is what God did for us whom he called—whether we are                              Jews or not.

Colossians 1:11-12   We ask him to strengthen you by his glorious might with all the power you need to patiently endure everything with joy.  You will also thank the Father, who has made you able to share the light, which is what God’s people inherit.

Colossians 1:14   His Son paid the price to free us, which means that our sins are forgiven.

Colossians 1:16   He created all things in heaven and on earth,
   visible and invisible.
Whether they are kings or lords,
           rulers or powers—
everything has been created through him and for him.

Colossians 1:19   God was pleased to have all of himself live in Christ.

Colossians 1:25-27   I became a servant of the church when God gave me the work of telling you his entire message.  In the past God hid this mystery, but now he has revealed it to his people.  God wanted his people throughout the world to know the glorious riches of this mystery—which is Christ living in you, giving you the hope of glory.

Colossians 2:14   He did this by erasing the charges that were brought against us by the written laws God had established. He took the charges away by nailing them to the cross.

Colossians 3:12-14   As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. 13 Put up with each other, and forgive each other if anyone has a complaint. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 Above all, be loving. This ties everything together perfectly.

Colossians 4:4-6   Pray that I may make this mystery as clear as possible. This is what I have to do.  Be wise in the way you act toward those who are outside the Christian faith. Make the most of your opportunities.  Everything you say should be kind and well thought out so that you know how to answer everyone.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-5   Brothers and sisters, we never forget this because we know that God loves you and has chosen you. We know this because the Good News we brought came to you not only with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with complete certainty. In the same way you know what kind of people we were while we were with you and the good things we did for you.

2 Thessalonians 1:8   He will take revenge on those who refuse to acknowledge God and on those who refuse to respond to the Good News about our Lord Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12   That’s why God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe a lie.  Then everyone who did not believe the truth, but was delighted with what God disapproves of, will be condemned.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-7   Brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we order you not to associate with any believer who doesn’t live a disciplined life and doesn’t follow the tradition you received from us.  You know what you must do to imitate us. We lived a disciplined life among you.

1 Timothy 1:3-5    A Warning about False Teachers
When I was going to the province of Macedonia, I encouraged you to stay in the city of Ephesus. That way you could order certain people to stop teaching false doctrine and occupying themselves with myths and endless genealogies. These myths and genealogies raise a lot of questions rather than promoting God’s plan, which centers in faith.

My goal in giving you this order is for love to flow from a pure heart, from a clear conscience, and from a sincere faith.

1 Timothy 1:8-9   We know that the laws in Moses’ Teachings are good if they are used as they were intended to be used.  For example, a person must realize that those laws are not intended for people who have God’s approval. Laws are intended for lawbreakers and rebels, for ungodly people and sinners, for those who think nothing is holy or sacred, for those who kill their fathers, their mothers, or other people.

1 Timothy 2:6   He sacrificed himself for all people to free them from their sins.
This message is valid for every era.

1 Timothy 6:3-6    Whoever teaches false doctrine and doesn’t agree with the accurate words of our Lord Jesus Christ and godly teachings  is a conceited person. He shows that he doesn’t understand anything. Rather, he has an unhealthy desire to argue and quarrel about words. This produces jealousy, rivalry, cursing, suspicion, and conflict between people whose corrupt minds have been robbed of the truth. They think that a godly life is a way to make a profit.

A godly life brings huge profits to people who are content with what they have.

2 Timothy 1:7-9    God didn’t give us a cowardly spirit but a spirit of power, love, and good judgment.  So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord or be ashamed of me, his prisoner. Instead, by God’s power, join me in suffering for the sake of the Good News.  God saved us and called us to be holy, not because of what we had done, but because of his own plan and kindness.[a] Before the world began, God planned that Christ Jesus would show us God’s kindness.

2 Timothy 2:10    For that reason, I endure everything for the sake of those who have been chosen so that they, too, may receive salvation from Christ Jesus with glory that lasts forever.

2 Timothy 4:2-4    Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach.  A time will come when people will not listen to accurate teachings. Instead, they will follow their own desires and surround themselves with teachers who tell them what they want to hear.  People will refuse to listen to the truth and turn to myths.

Titus 1:1-2   Greeting
From Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I was sent to lead God’s chosen people to faith and to the knowledge of the truth that leads to a godly life. My message is based on the confidence of eternal life. God, who never lies, promised this eternal life before the world began.

Titus 2:1   Guidelines for Christian Living
Tell believers to live the kind of life that goes along with accurate teachings.

Titus 3:2-3   Believers shouldn’t curse anyone or be quarrelsome, but they should be gentle and show courtesy to everyone.

What God Did for Us
Indeed, we, too, were once stupid, disobedient, and misled. We were slaves to many kinds of lusts and pleasures. We were mean and jealous. We were hated, and we hated each other.

Titus 3:9   Advice for Titus
Avoid foolish controversies, arguments about genealogies, quarrels, and fights about Moses’ Teachings. This is useless and worthless.

Hebrews 1:2    In these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. God made his Son responsible for everything. His Son is the one through whom God made the universe.

Hebrews 1:8-9   But God said about his Son,
“Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.
The scepter in your kingdom is a scepter for justice.
You have loved what is right and hated what is wrong.
That is why God, your God,
anointed you, rather than your companions, with the oil of joy.”

Hebrews 1:14   What are all the angels? They are spirits sent to serve those who are going to receive salvation.

Hebrews 2:11   Jesus Became One of Us to Help Us
Jesus, who makes people holy, and all those who are made holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus isn’t ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.

Hebrews 4:12   God’s word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and intentions.

Hebrews 9:15   Because Christ offered himself to God, he is able to bring a new promise from God. Through his death he paid the price to set people free from the sins they committed under the first promise. He did this so that those who are called can be guaranteed an inheritance that will last forever.

Hebrews 10:17    Then he adds, “I will no longer hold their sins and their disobedience against them.”

Hebrews 10:24   Encourage Each Other
We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things.

Hebrews 12:2    We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of him, so he endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought him. Now he holds the honored position—the one next to God the Father on the heavenly throne.

James 5:15   (Prayers offered in faith will save those who are sick, and the Lord will cure them.) If you have sinned, you will be forgiven.

1 Peter 1:7-10    The purpose of these troubles is to test your faith as fire tests how genuine gold is. Your faith is more precious than gold, and by passing the test, it gives praise, glory, and honor to God. This will happen when Jesus Christ appears again.

Although you have never seen Christ, you love him. You don’t see him now, but you believe in him. You are extremely happy with joy and praise that can hardly be expressed in words  as you obtain the salvation that is the goal of your faith.

The prophets carefully researched and investigated this salvation. Long ago they spoke about God’s kindness[a] that would come to you.

1 Peter 2:2-3    Desire God’s pure word as newborn babies desire milk. Then you will grow in your salvation. Certainly you have tasted that the Lord is good!

1 Peter 2:9   However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:21    God called you to endure suffering because Christ suffered for you. He left you an example so that you could follow in his footsteps.

1 Peter 3:1   Wives, in a similar way, place yourselves under your husbands’ authority. Some husbands may not obey God’s word. Their wives could win these men for Christ by the way they live without saying anything.

1 Peter 3:12   The Lord’s eyes are on those who do what he approves.
   His ears hear their prayer.
The Lord confronts those who do evil.”

1 Peter 3:15    But dedicate your lives to Christ as Lord. Always be ready to defend your confidence in God when anyone asks you to explain it. However, make your defense with gentleness and respect.

1 Peter 4:8   Above all, love each other warmly, because love covers many sins.

1 John 3:23   This is his commandment: to believe in his Son, the one named Jesus Christ, and to love each other as he commanded us.

1 John 5:13   Conclusion
I’ve written this to those who believe in the Son of God so that they will know that they have eternal life.

Mark 1:38    Jesus said to them, “Let’s go somewhere else, to the small towns that are nearby. I have to spread the Good News in them also. This is why I have come.”

Mark 2:17    When Jesus heard that, he said to them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor; those who are sick do. I’ve come to call sinners, not people who think they have God’s approval.”

Mark 7:20   He continued, “It’s what comes out of a person that makes him unclean.

Mark 8:23-25   Jesus took the blind man’s hand and led him out of the village. He spit into the man’s eyes and placed his hands on him. Jesus asked him, “Can you see anything?”

The man looked up and said, “I see people. They look like trees walking around.”

Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes a second time, and the man saw clearly. His sight was normal again. He could see everything clearly even at a distance.

Mark 9:2-4    Moses and Elijah Appear with Jesus
After six days Jesus took only Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain where they could be alone.

Jesus’ appearance changed in front of them.  His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone on earth could bleach them. Then Elijah and Moses appeared to them and were talking with Jesus.

Mark 9:23    Jesus said to him, “As far as possibilities go, everything is possible for the person who believes.”

Mark 9:29   He told them, “This kind of spirit can be forced out only by prayer.”[a] Footnotes:

Mark 9:29 Some manuscripts and translations add “and fasting.”

Mark 10:27   Jesus looked at them and said, “It’s impossible for people to save themselves, but it’s not impossible for God to save them. Everything is possible for God.”

Mark 10:29-30    Jesus said, “I can guarantee this truth: Anyone who gave up his home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or fields because of me and the Good News  will certainly receive a hundred times as much here in this life. They will certainly receive homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields, along with persecutions. But in the world to come they will receive eternal life.

Mark 10:45   It’s the same way with the Son of Man. He didn’t come so that others could serve him. He came to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people.”

Mark 12:23-25    When the dead come back to life, whose wife will she be? The seven brothers had married her.”   Jesus said to them, “Aren’t you mistaken because you don’t know the Scriptures or God’s power?   When the dead come back to life, they don’t marry. Rather, they are like the angels in heaven.

Mark 12:30-31    So love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  The second most important commandment is this: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

Mark 13:10   But first, the Good News must be spread to all nations.

Mark 13:13    Everyone will hate you because you are committed to me. But the person who endures to the end will be saved.

Mark 13:20    If the Lord does not reduce that time, no one will be saved. But those days will be reduced because of those whom God has chosen.

Mark 13:22    False messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will work miraculous signs and do wonderful things to deceive, if possible, those whom God has chosen.

Mark 13:27    He will send out his angels, and from every direction under the sky, they will gather those whom God has chosen.

Mark 14:24    He said to them, “This is my blood, the blood of the promise.[a] It is poured out for many people.

Luke 18:5-6   I’ll have to give her justice. Otherwise, she’ll keep coming to me until she wears me out.’”

The Lord added, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge thought.

Luke 18:17   I can guarantee this truth: Whoever doesn’t receive God’s kingdom as a little child receives it will never enter it.”

Luke 18:29-30    Jesus said to them, “I can guarantee this truth: Anyone who gave up his home, wife, brothers, parents, or children because of God’s kingdom  will certainly receive many times as much in this life and will receive eternal life in the world to come.”

Acts 20:24   But I don’t place any value on my own life. I want to finish the race I’m running. I want to carry out the mission I received from the Lord Jesus—the mission of testifying to the Good News of God’s kindness.

Acts 21:25   To clarify this matter we have written non-Jewish believers a letter with our decision. We told them that they should not eat food sacrificed to false gods, bloody meat, or the meat of strangled animals. They also should not commit sexual sins.”

Acts 22:25-26   But when the soldiers had Paul stretch out to tie him to the whipping post with the straps, Paul asked the sergeant who was standing there, “Is it legal for you to whip a Roman citizen who hasn’t had a trial?”

When the sergeant heard this, he reported it to his commanding officer. The sergeant asked him, “What are you doing? This man is a Roman citizen.”

Acts 22:29   Immediately, the soldiers who were going to question Paul stepped away from him. The officer was afraid when he found out that he had tied up a Roman citizen.

Acts 23:06   When Paul saw that some of them were Sadducees and others were Pharisees, he shouted in the council, “Brothers, I’m a Pharisee and a descendant of Pharisees. I’m on trial because I expect that the dead will come back to life.”

Acts 26:18   You will open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan’s control to God’s. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and a share among God’s people who are made holy by believing in me.’

Romans 3:20    Not one person can have God’s approval by any effort to follow the laws in the Scriptures. These laws show what sin is.

Romans 5:11   In addition, our Lord Jesus Christ lets us continue to brag about God. After all, it is through Christ that we now have this restored relationship with God.
